At EKOAKUA, we are aware of the vital importance of water in our lives. It is essential to respect efficiency and sustainability in all areas, both in regions with abundant water and in those with scarcity.
Water transportation is one of the most widespread applications, covering from the simplest to the most complex processes. In all these cases, energy savings and process reliability are key aspects, especially in installations involved in the integral water cycle such as desalination plants (IDAM), drinking water treatment plants (ETAP), wastewater treatment plants (EDAR), water storage and distribution, and irrigation networks.
EKOAKUA is proud to be the maintainer of most of the desalination plants in the regions of Murcia, Alicante, and Almería. We are trusted by important installations such as the Alicante desalination plant, the Torrevieja desalination plant, the two desalination plants in San Pedro del Pinatar, and the Águilas-Guadalentín desalination plant. We have carried out work in the Carboneras desalination plant in Almería and, in the past, maintained the Valdelentisco desalination plant.
A notable success case occurred in the Águilas-Guadalentín desalination plant in 2018. A pipe burst caused the flooding of the desalination plant's pump room, putting fourteen pieces of equipment out of service. This incident severely affected the water supply to the municipalities and Irrigation Communities of Águilas, Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, and Pulpí, as well as the crops in the Guadalentín Valley. In just three weeks, we managed to restore the equipment, ensuring the continuity of water supply to the irrigation communities and the population.
In the Torrevieja plant, one of the largest in the world, we carry out preventive and proactive maintenance tasks, anticipating future needs of the client. We work closely with engineering departments to migrate to new frequency converter technologies, Power Electronics, which ensures full availability of spare parts, an extensive three-year warranty, and very short response times in case of failure.
Additionally, we work with numerous wastewater treatment companies and pumping stations, as well as with the public administration. We have clients such as the Mancomunidad de los Canales del Taibilla and prominent irrigation communities such as the Comunidad de Regantes del Campo de Cartagena, Comunidad de Regantes de Mazarrón, Comunidad de Regantes Miraflores (Jumilla), and Comunidad de Regantes de Lorca, where solar pumping technology has been integrated, among others.
Our products are indispensable to ensure efficient, sustainable, and reliable system operation, allowing adaptation to fluctuations in demand and maximizing efficiency in the use of resources such as electricity and water.
